Our Staff
Elaine and Ron RacineElaine and Ron Racine started Senior Comfort Services in 2003 with a goal to make ‘everyday a great day for seniors and their families.’ Personal experiences with family were the major contributing factors in the decision to start their company. Both Elaine and her husband Ron have been involved in family crises that stemmed from elder-related concerns. In fact, Elaine’s own father suffered an injury from a fall and went through an extensive and lengthy rehabilitation process. They know that a major fear of many seniors is the loss of their independence. The desire to ease this fear is what prompted them to offer their unique selection of in-home care services. They feel that few actions are more rewarding than providing assistance to elderly people.
Nancy Van Patten-SteigerNancy Van Patten-Steiger, RN is the Director of Home Care Operations for Senior Comfort Services. She manages all aspects of the company and serves as a nurse liaison for the community. Nancy interacts with staff, clients, families, the home care community, care facilities, and others as she leads the expansion of services offered by Senior Comfort Services. Nancy’s knowledge of how the care continuum operates is based on years of hands-on experience. She has worked as a case manager, as an operations manager for a home care agency, a Regional Nurse Manager, and a Clinical Coordinator for a multi-state home care agency. Knowledge, commitment, compassion, and ingenuity are the cornerstones that allow her to thrive in the home care community. At heart, she is truly a “home care” nurse and advocate.
Lisa PellonLisa Pellon started with Senior Comfort Services as a caregiver in 2006. Lisa brings great personal and professional caregiving skills to SCS, and is always looking for new ways to enhance our client’s lives in whatever way that she can. She truly believes in our vision and mission in keeping the elderly safe and independent at home. As our Client Care Coordinator, Lisa is also responsible for managing our office and she works hard to keep things running smoothly. She spends her days scheduling our great caregivers, handling issues that might arise, contacting clients to assure good service and a myriad of other duties too numerous to mention. At times she may even be found delivering a home baked pie to one of our clients – using her shopping talents to find some specially requested item, or taking care of a client’s pet while they are recovering from a crisis!
Jonathan KamyckJonathan Kamyck (Elaine and Ron’s son) manages Senior Comfort Services’s information technology through his own small business, WatchDog Computer Services. Jonathan has nearly a decade of experience working with computer technology and has worn the hats of programmer, technician, salesman, manager, and most recently, business owner. He brings these diverse experiences together to solve technology problems small businesses face every day. Mr. Kamyck earned his BS in Business Administration and an MS in Organizational Leadership through Southern New Hampshire University. Jon also holds an MS in Information Assurance from Norwich University, one of only a few schools designated by both the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency as a ‘Center of Academic Excellence’ in Information Assurance education. BarneyBarney – It is a widely known fact that pets offer a comforting atmosphere and put a smile on the faces of people of any age. Therapy dogs are evaluated, trained, tested and qualified for visiting with people in their homes, nursing homes, hospitals and many other facilities. Elaine and Ron decided to add a pet to enhance the family atmosphere at Senior Comfort Services for clients, employees and the overall community. After passing the Canine Good Citizen’s Test, Barney has become the cornerstone of a Therapy Dog Team to visit our clients of Senior Comfort Services. In addition to visiting homes, he will also go to many nursing/assisted living facilities, senior centers, and hospitals. Barney has passed the testing and is registered with Delta Therapy International, and is a volunteer member of the Local “Paws for People” program with Tufts Cummings Veterinary school. |
